Kate Akamine

Senior Counsel

Kate represents and defends employers in all areas of employment law, including claims of discrimination, harassment, retaliation, wrongful discharge, as well as wage and hour class action litigation. She has experience in all phases of litigation, from pre-litigation disputes through trial. Kate believes that ongoing communication with her clients is paramount in creating efficient and creative solutions to complex employment matters. She also provides legal advice regarding day-to-day employment matters that impact potential litigation, including employee leaves of absences, reasonable accommodations, disciple, and termination.

Prior to joining the firm, Kate was a partner at a large employment defense firm in Orange County and represented employers of all size ranging from publicly traded companies to family-owned businesses. She graduated law school from Pepperdine University School of Law and was the Student Articles Editor for the Dispute Resolution Journal.
